Polish cinematography in a nutshell
The Mazowieckie (Masovian) voivodeship was the undisputed leader in terms of cinema numbers in the region. Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of people visiting cinemas has declined. In 2021, the number of cinema goers per 1,000 residents dropped by 885 compared to 2019. Polish cinematography is dominated by fiction films, which make up over 62 percent of all movies produced in the country.In 2022, Multikino, Helios, and Cinema City were the most visited at the time. Cinema premieres of popular films attracted a large audience to cinemas. In 2023, movie "Avatar: The Way of Water" was seen by more than 130 thousand people
